Urban Cricket Crew Experience

Urban Cricket Crew is a joint project between the ECB and npower, which encourages children to learn about cricket and promotes active participation in sport. It also enables children to experience live Test Match cricket in a safe and friendly environment.

The youngsters receive a host of goodies including a giant foam hand, t-shirt and cap, a pen, a bag and the 'Sticky Wicket' educational booklet, which is crammed full of cricket facts. Since its launch in 2002 over 9000 children have attended an npower Test Match.

The Urban Cricket Crew will be present at all six npower Test Matches in 2010 on the following dates:

England vs. Bangladesh
Lord’s – 27th May
Old Trafford – 4th June

England vs. Pakistan
Trent Bridge – 29th July
Edgbaston – 6th August
The Brit Oval – 18th August
Lord's – 26th August

The adults with the kids gave the event a rave review in 2006/7

"An excellent initiative. Our group included 17 or 18 children who’d never seen a test match or experienced the atmosphere – undoubtedly left a positive view about cricket and npower."
C. Jones, Forton Cricket Club.

"The children loved wearing the caps and t-shirts and waving the fingers and I did too! Excellent goody bags. Thanks."
A. Gardner, Greenholm.
